without accompanying illustration. Others are scans of pages from picture/art
essays, where the text makes little sense without the photographs or

- In 2004, the National Captioning Institute commissioned me to produce a
128-page illustrated book to commemorate a quarter-century of pioneering
work in producing closed captions for television. Here is
Chapter 1, which I
wrote and edited (Copyright National Captioning Institute, 2004).
- Beast
Cabling Systems commissioned me to write instruction books for
equipment they produce that facilitates the pulling of telephone- and data
cables through ceilings and walls of office buildings (Copyright Beast
Cabling Systems, Inc. 2006).
